Fed up with life as a Hollywood prostitute, Karla (Season Hubley) goes to a mortuary to identify the body of her friend Ginger who has been beaten to death by their pimp Ramrod (Wings Hauser). Karla then agrees to work with Sergeant Tom Walsh (Gary Swanson) to help arrest the murderer. She calls on Ramrod with a hidden recorder and collects enough evidence to enable the police to arrest him. But Ramrod escapes, determined to hunt Karla down. Tom Walsh and his men have to move fast to find Karla before her would-be murderer. Boasting a memorably deranged performance by Hauser as the psychopathic pimp, Vice Squad is a gritty and uncompromising urban crime thriller in the vein of the hugely successful Death Wish series (1974-94); directed with palpable tension by Gary Sherman, best known for his horror films Death Line (1972, aka Raw Meat) and Dead & Buried (1982).
